Weird Al Yankovic – Dare to be Stupid – 1985

When did Weird Al Yankovic have his heyday? I remember him to be very funny and mock everybody during my youth. And I also remember him being pretty clever about it. Michael Jackson’s Bad became Fat, Beat It also by Michael Jackson became Eat it and Madonnas Like a Virgin became Like a Surgeon. But apart from those, I can’t really remember much else. Well, Like a Surgeon is on the album, Weird Al Yankovic’s third. There is also a cover for Cyndi Lauper’s Girls Just Want to Have Fun, which became Girls Just Want to Have Lunch. When I revisited this album and the music on it I also got reminded about a Weird Al Yankovic original if I’m not mistaken. One of my all-time favorites – On More Minute. Those lyrics are out of this world! The song itself might not be a masterpiece but those lyrics are! Check it out! As a whole, it’s not much of an album though. Some songs stand out but most are mediocre at best.
