The Hunger Games – Mockingjay Part 2 – 2015
The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2 begins right where the earlier film left off. It should be since it’s more or less the same film, only a really long one if it weren’t divided into two parts. It’s not a really worthy closure of the story though. I feel like it underestimates its audience. It’s not hard to figure out what’s going to happen in the end. The main story is so obvious that it isn’t even funny. It’s hard not to spoil anything though. I had the finale more or less figured out before the movie even started. Perhaps it was in the very beginning but I think it was already in the previous film.
If we compare Mockingjay part 2 with the first one we notice that this is even more political. It has morals and there is something important to be told. There is no conflict between being too easy and an important message. Of course, it’s sad that the story is so simple but I guess that’s the way things are.
But Mockingjay part 2 has more action than part 1 and that’s a partial saving grace. It doesn’t make it ok but at least it makes it better in that sense. The CGI is very nice and the exterior of the film isn’t bad. Just the story. When it’s over you go… What? Was that all? Couldn’t they have made it at least a little exciting at the end?
Plus for the action and some nice scenes. Minus for the stupid, yes that’s right – S t u p i e d plot!
