Lovebites – Judgement Day – 2023
Judgement Day is an album by the Japanese, all-female band Lovebites. It’s hard and heavy and FAST! The melodies are nice and all the member are known only by their first names. Or if it’s their last names. I must admit that I cannot tell if Faimi, Haruna, Midori, Miyako, and Asami are first or last names. But it doesn’t really matter. There are many bands out there who use stage names anyway.
The songs on Judgement day are all originals, I believe. But there are some vibes to other musicians from time to time too. It’s hard to put you finger on it but I guess you can only do so much with the minor- and harmonic minor scales. Some runs remind me of Yngwie Malmsteen’s Far Beyond the Sun but I cannot tell if it’s my ears just pulling my leg or if there are actually similarities there. There are other things as well but the same thing there. It’s hard to put your finger on it.
But, as I said, this i FAST! If you like speed- och Power Metal you should certainly check hos band out. I know I will try to find more material with them. I really liked what I heard on this album.
