Easter Evil – 2024

Easter Evil

Easter Evil is a horror comedy hopefully not made with too much seriousness. I should have known when I started to watch it by the poster art alone that this was going to be something I really wouldn’t enjoy. There’s a charm in watching bad horror movies. Movies that are so bad that they turn good or at least entertaining. Easter Evil doesn’t do that. It’s only bad, never funny or amusing.

I think the premises were good to be fair, a couple of hookers, or call girls or whatever you choose to call them are being terrorized by a giant Easter Bunny. It could and should work! But it doesn’t. The acting is abysmal and that may be the intent as well. I donät mind so much when it’s only Elizabeth Rath (Bunny) in the shot. She’s gorgeous after all. But when her friend – Trinity comes over I’m not sure how to react. Is the point that we should be fooled into thinking that this is a woman? It’s obviously not. Maybe it’s the point that we should realize it’s a drag queen whilst Bunny doesn’t? In that case, is she blind?

Did they care?

The third option is that they really didn’t care. They were just a group of friends wanting to make a movie and there was only one woman present, so they thought – “what the heck” and just went for it. But regardless of the motive behind this abomination of a womanlike figure, I could have forgiven all if I got some decent slasher scenes out of it. There’s basically nothing. We don’t get to see much of the giant bunny at all. I was hoping for some kind of killing spree to live up to the name of Easter Evil. But there’s nothing. At the very end, there’s some blood but nothing like what I had anticipated.

The best part of this movie is the poster art!
