Chez Kane – Powerzone – 2022

Powerzone

Powerzone is, if I understand it correctly, Chez Jane’s second album. It looks pretty hard if you dare to judge by the cover but It’s softer than it looks. There is certainly power both in the vocals and the guitar playing though. To me, the songs are good but not great, and I think that’s my curse and really not Chez’s fault. But power can mean different things. You know the Power Ballad formula. You can apply that sound here, it’s just not ballads if you know what I mean.

I guess that this kind of light Hardrock or FM-rock is very suitable for some rock stations and it is very easy to listen to. It’s not personal enough for me. Maybe it is to Chwz, but now to me. But don’t get me wrong, I think Powerzone is a well-played and well-performed album. It’s just not for me all the way through. I could see myself listening to it on repeat though just because it’s very easy to listen to. Maybe that will make it grow eventually. But for now, it’s good, but not great.
