Blasphemous Creation – Battle of the Ancients – 2012

Battle of the Ancients’ biggest enemy is the production. If the band had just found a better producer who could make it sound less tinny, it would surely have been much better. For my part, there’s far too much bass and overall a dull, rumbling sound that I don’t enjoy at all. I never thought I would say this, but it needs a bit of air and separation between the instruments to work better.

Musically, it falls somewhere in the gray zone between Thrash and Death Metal, I would say, but there’s not enough interest for any further analysis. It’s unlikely something I’ll listen to again, at least not for a very long time! The little text analysis I did led me to suspect that the lyrics are quite infantile overall, but truth be told, there was scant text I managed to grasp.
