Avengers 3 – Infinity War – 2018
Marvel has really done a great job weaving all the movies together. It’s been going on for some time. Characters from one franchise guesting another and so forth. But if you’re not and Marvel expert ( like I’m not) it may be hard to understand which characters that really belong together and which that doesn’t. I never read Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, or Iron Man. I have some experience with Spiderman and Hulk though. They seem to belong to the same universe and Infinity War really tells the story as you believe it.
Several movies ago I saw some extra material in one of the movies where they talked about these different crystals hidden in the movies. I had absolutely no idea what they were talking about. For Infinity War this is much more developed. Here you have no choice but to realize what these stones are all about. The main antagonist is collecting them for the sole purpose of power. When he’s got all of them he can change to the world by just snapping his fingers.
Kind of cool, but there’s a little much too much depth to the bad guy. In comic world universes, it’s usually enough by knowing that there’s a quest for absolute power. We don’t really need to know what drives these bad guys. There are a lot of action sequences but I think it’s kinda hard keeping track of who’s who. There are so many heroes in there and I’m not sure they really belong together. Dr. Strange, Spiderman, Iron Man, Thor etc. Some of the different film series that are weaved together here has a different kind of humor. It’s not necessarily a good thing to combine everything. Most of the time it works ok but there are some confusing sequences too.
