Amerikan Kaos – Armageddon Boogie – 2024

Armageddon Boogie

Armageddon Boogie is the first album in a series of three (that I know of) from Amerikan Kaos. I’m not sure if you should call it at project or a band, or even if it’s Jeff Waters hiring other mucisioan to make the albums. I’ve read in his own statement that the three albums will differ musically and personnel-wise. But it’s hard to make any conclusion so far.

The genre of Armageddon Boogie is more rock-orientated than Annihilator but when you know it’s Jeff Waters behind the music you can hear the differences, especially in the rhythm sections. More so in the first half of the album, I think. It may not be an Annihilator album but it’s not that far off if you compare it to some of the songs that’s been on previous Annihilator albums.

I don’t have all the songs on the top of my mind right now, but there’s definitely the same feel as the splendid song Speed from the amazing album King of the Kill, in one of the songs. A boogie is a boogie perhaps.

Overall I think it’s a fine album. It might get missed out on since it’s not released under the Annihilator moniker but you should get it. It’s definitely worth a listen!
