Dr. Strange – 2016 – Another piece of Marvel

Marvel delivers yet another cool movie!

Just a few years ago, I wasn’t that into Marvel productions. It was more because I didn’t recognize the super heroes than that I didn’t like the actual concept of the films. To be truthful, they have always been quite esthetic to watch. They’re beautiful and they have a lot of nice action (and CGI). I think the days when we all were Anti CGI is now over. We have seen again and again that it can be beautifully done and green screens are part of almost every major action film these days. Dr. Strange does it as good as anybody. It’s wonderful to watch the craftsmanship!

I won’t claim that I’ve seen all the cinematic experiences from Marvel but I think I’ve seen most of them by now. I think that they have grown stronger over time. I also think that these flicks will be woven together to a greater universe in the future. I think that we have just scratched the future so far and that we’re going to see different collaborations of the super heroes soon. Maybe ever collaborations that we won’t expect; Hulk with Thor or The Silver Surfer with the Fantastic Four. Wait a minute. We’ve already seen that, haven’t we?

It’s easy to conclude that this is a beautiful action film and that the CGI is stunning. We wouldn’t expect nothing less anyway. But is there more to this movie? Does it deliver any morality? You know, stuff like that you should sacrifice all for “the cause”. Well, I think it does. It’s still in the comic book universe though so the characters don’t have that much space to grow in. On the other hand, I never read the comic Dr. Strange so I guess I wouldn’t know how the character should be.

My experience is that this isn’t unique for any of the cartoon super heroes. We don’t even have to limit ourselves to Marvels universe. It really doesn’t matter. That’s in the essence of a true hero, to protect the word regardless of what happens to them. It’s very unusual that they get permanently injured or dies though. That’s also in the essence of things. The hero always wins or at least prolongs the fight to the sequel.

If you see the film all the way to the end you’ll know what I mean. There are end credits but you must continue past them to get the whole picture. You’ll need to sit back and enjoy the film. And of course, forget everything you think you know! The universe is now a multiverse!
